Always allow your casting material to set and cool completely before attempting to extract your finished piece. Gently ease the outer edges of the silicone away from the casting, taking special care around intricate sections like detailed wings or slender limbs. Taking time to peel the mold back gradually ensures delicate details remain intact.
Prior to pouring, inspect the side cut to ensure the seam is clean and perfectly aligned along its edges. Proper alignment of the cut prevents material from seeping out and helps maintain the accurate anatomical shape of the figure. Always double-check that the seam remains closed and supported before introducing your liquid material.
Wash your silicone molds gently using mild soapy water and a soft sponge, making sure to avoid abrasive pads, sharp tools, or aggressive chemical solvents. Allow the molds to air dry thoroughly before placing them into storage. Store them flat in their natural form, keeping them away from direct sunlight, extreme heat, and heavy objects that could distort the silicone shape.
